Vumbura Plains camp
Vumbura Plains camp is located in an extremely northern part of the Okavango delta overlooking a vast, attractive floodplain. The northern area of the delta is well known for encompassing a wide assortment of habitats and species. The region is considered to have representatives of just about every animal that occurs in the Okavango biome and makes it perfect for game walks and drives.
The camp itself consists of two separate seven roomed camps which are inter-linked by walkways connecting them to the main living areas. The luxuriously designed rooms at the camps are raised up from the ground on wooden decks. Each room has a large, very comfortable bedroom with a separate lounge area and an en suite bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower. Each of the rooms has the added luxury of a private plunge pool and 'sala' area, which offers the perfect opportunity to relax whilst watching the waving grasses of the floodplain. The main dining, lounge and bar area is also raised off the ground and tucked beneath a canopy of shady, indigenous trees with a wonderful vista across the floodplains.
The main activity at Vumbura Plains is game viewing in wonderful and varied countryside. Open 4x4 Land Rovers allow close proximity to the abundant wildlife in the savannah and forested areas. Birds abound in large varieties and quantities providing guests with an excellent all round wildlife experience in a remote and private part of the Okavango. The opportunity also exists for guests to take mokoro and boat rides presenting a different perspective of Africa.
